According a UN statement, the funds will enable life-saving help for millions of people, including those who were forced from their homes and affected by conflict and food insecurity in Central and Eastern Africa.
Ban recalled that the CERF is a lifeline for the world's most vulnerable people.
This funding is a concrete demonstration of UN commitment to leave no one behind, he added.
According to the UN, $64 million USD will allow humanitarian partners to respond to the displacement crises caused by conflict and violence in South Sudan, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The rest of the money will help host communities for refugees in Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda and will support urgent humanitarian assistance for vulnerable people in Democratic People's Republic of Korea, including children who need urgent nutrition assistance.
